The Girls
Style Hack #1 | Bralettes
Bralettes are a safe alternative to traditional bras. They’re one of my favorite style hacks because they are versatile and compliment your outfits. Depending on the occasion, you can wear them underneath dresses or shirts that are too revealing. Here is one of my favorite bralettes.
Style Hack #2 | Bra Clips
A bra clip pulls together the straps of your regular bra to create a racerback bra. Bras can be expensive to buy and you probably won’t need to wear racerback bras that often, so this is a great alternative! By the way, this style hack isn’t just for the racerback look. If your bra straps always seem to get in the way and fall off of your shoulders, use bra clips to keep them in place.
Style Hack #3| Bra Extenders
Let’s be real, there aren’t many style hacks that would help you fit into your older clothes if you gained weight recently, but this one is pretty nifty! When you gain weight, your bra may not fit properly anymore. In this case, you can purchase bra extenders. These extenders give you some extra length to fit your bra comfortably while you work on losing those extra pounds.
Style Hack #4 | Nipple Covers
I often get asked what option is best to wear with a plunging neckline or when your back is exposed and you’re unable to wear a regular bra. The best style hack for these two issues is nipple covers.
If you’re worried that nipple covers just aren’t enough because your breasts need a little lift, then check out these pasties with a lift! The nipple covers not only provide coverage but the adhesive tape gives you an instant breast lift!
Style Hack #5 | Bra Measurement
For accurate bra measurements, I recommend going to Nordstrom or your local department store where they will fit you properly. I did a video on how to determine your bra size. And the truth is…it’s basically impossible! Leave it to the professionals and get your measurements done by a specialist!
The Feet
Style Hack #6 | Still Standing Foot Spray
If you plan to dance the night away in a pair of stilettos any time soon, this style hack will be a lifesaver! Every time I know I’m going to be on my feet for a while, I use Still Standing foot spray. It contains natural anti-inflammatories like arnica, aloe and Vitamin E. I also like this Earth Therapies foot spray which contains organic ingredients like tea tree oil, peppermint oil, aloe vera, chamomile, and other all-natural pain relievers. Spray this on your feet before you head out the door and prepare to be amazed.
Style Hack #7 | Sole Serum
This Sole Serum Foot gel will soothe dry, cracked, or swollen feet after a long night. Another option is this foot gel called Pevonia Tension Relief Foot Gel. Both rejuvenate your feet!
Style Hack #8 | Heavenly Heelz Foot Pads
As someone who spends a lot of time on-the-go in heels, my feet take a pounding! If you’re not quite sold on the foot spray or gel, you can go the traditional route with these footpads. They’re soft, cushiony, and can be worn in two ways:
On the back of your heel to prevent blisters
At the balls of your feet to prevent calluses
Style Hack #9 | Fancy Feet Foot Petals
If your heels need even more cushion and support, these heavy-duty foot petals are the ultimate shoe hack. The thicker option gives shoes that are too big the perfect fit which is another hack!
Style Hack #10 | Fancy Feet Balm
To prevent blisters from even starting… use a balm like this one by Fancy Feet. Simply rub the balm on the areas that you can tell might blister and you’re done! I used this daily when I was training for the NYC marathon to prevent blistering. You can also try these small Compeed pads to prevent blisters.
Style Hack #11 | SoleMates High Heel Protectors
If you’re someone who can’t live without her heels, even in a grassy area, this style hack is a game-changer! These heel protectors are clear, narrow, and durable. Not only do they protect you from sinking into grass, but they prevent you from slipping into cracks on sidewalks, grates, decks, and cobblestone.
Bonus Tips
Secure Your Ponytails
Hair ties are not just a style hack, they’re a necessity. These cute ponytail holders look like phone cords and remind me of the 80s! The reason why I’m obsessed with these is that they do not leave a crease in your hair if you want to wear your hair up during the day and then down in the evening.
Double-Sided Tape
The next style hack that is underutilized is double-sided fashion body tape. You won’t always use it, but it’s so great to have on hand. Here are some of my favorite ways to use it:
1) Secure Wrap-Front Dresses or Sweaters – Prevent your dress or sweater from gaping over and exposing too much
2) Plunging Neckline – Secure both sides of your shirt or dress so you won’t have a wardrobe malfunction
3) Belt Excess – tape down the excess belt strap that doesn’t make it to the next belt loop
4) Lapels – tape down your loose or floppy lapel
5) Hemline – take a longer hemline up a pinch when you’re wearing pants that are too long
These small problems will arise regularly and it’s important that you know how to quickly and easily address them. Now… you do! Do you have a tried and true secret style tip that you’re dying to share with us?! Comment below and share!
