Exercise Rut
I am in a major exercise rut. Like, M-A-J-O-R.
No matter what I tell myself about how badly I need to workout, I can’t seem to find the motivation.
Between my hormone roller coaster and my more sedentary lifestyle, I’ve gained 10 pounds.
That may not sound like much, but for someone who is smallish, that’s a lot.
Why I Exercise
Since turning 40, exercise is no longer an option.
And, it’s certainly not all about the aesthetics.
Exercise is:
– My therapy
– It protects my weak knees and joints
– Helps with neck issues
In other words, it’s kind of a physical necessity.
And, yet…here I am. Day after day not exercising.
Excuses
It’s been months since I’ve been regularly exercising.
I can give you the messaging that runs through my head… I’m trying to get my work done.
I’m tired. I’ll start tomorrow.
The truth is…it’s REALLY FREAKIN HARD. If it were easy, everyone would be doing it.
Activewear
So… I’m going to do E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G I can to motivate myself.
One go-to for yours truly, SHOPPING.
I’ve been checking out a TON of activewear online.
The jury is still out whether this will actually get me back in the game, but it’s worth a shot!

I understand what you’re going through with exercise. I’m doing Tracy Anderson workouts too, and I think you’re on Year 3. I just finished the first quarter of Year 3, and it’s MUCH harder than Years 1 and 2. Every day I don’t feel like doing the exercise. The only thing that motivates me is I know I’ll be absolutely miserable if I gain weight., and my body doesn’t improve. You still look fantastic., though. I haven’t done Streaming, but people seem to think it’s more enjoyable. I know there are two versions of Streaming–a longer one and a shorter one.
You may want to go to one of Tracy’s Vitality Week events. They’re four days or less. I’ve been to a few, and they’ve really inspired me.
Anyway, good luck. I hope you get back into the workouts after you move and are all settled!!
