Let’s Pamper Ourselves!
Before we dive into pampering with our spa day,
let me first discuss why it is SO important to carve out a little “ME” time once in a while… (otherwise known as… preserving your sanity)!
Our Busy Schedules
Here is a snapshot of what my days look like, Monday – Friday from 6:30am – 8:30pm.
I’m sure your schedules are similar…
Wake up. Wake the kids up. Feed the dog. Remind the kids, to get up. Make breakfast. Fix lunches. Pack sneakers in the backpacks. Make sure they have coats, gloves, hats, mittens, etc. Drop them off at the bus stop.
Work (AKA my break).
Squeeze in a 30-minute workout. Let the dog out. Walk the dog. Throw in a load of laundry.
Grab kids from school or bus (depending on the day) Stop by grocery store. Come home. Unpack groceries and school bags. Get kids a snack and drink. Start dinner. Eat dinner (Well, kind of, I am always the last to sit down.) Clean up dinner, and load dishwasher. Fix specific desserts for both kids, usually consisting of marshmallows and M&M’s. Make sure Gage has homework done. Switch the laundry to the dryer.
Start the bedtime ritual. Beg Elizabeth to brush her teeth. Read to the kids (Chris and I each grab a kid). Find the lost stuffy (stuffed animal). Tuck everyone in. Tuck everyone in … again. (For some reason, I always seem to forget something the first time. Even though I don’t. The kids manufacture reasons for the second tuck. Maybe fold a little laundry.
And then, ME TIME… FINALLY!!!
(And, that’s a lean day…without anything extra or after school activities.)
By 8:30pm, I’m one tired momma. And, it often takes everything I have, just to wash my face.
Colleen Rothschild
SO…imagine my excitement when Colleen Rothschild reached out to ask if I would be interested in a ‘spa night’ post.
Um, sure. I can do that. (Gosh, I love my job.)
Firstly, Colleen is one of my favorite people. She is so inspiring!
Second, her skincare is off the charts good. If you’ve tried it, you know what I’m talking about.

Let’s Start Our Spa Day!
Our spa day (or night) begins when you have no obvious distractions…
Kids are asleep or at school, work is done, kitchen is clean. Once those boxes are checked, grab your hot tea or wine… and let’s get masking!
Masking
One of the skincare luxuries I rarely have time for, but absolutely LOVE… is masking.
There are a variety of masks you can try, depending on your skincare needs.
I generally opt for two types: Exfoliating or Hydrating
Option #1 | Clarifying Detox Mask
Colleen’s Clarifying Detox Mask contains charcoal, which I just featured in this post.
Charcoal is a Korean beauty favorite that exfoliates and detoxifies… basically getting rid of all the bad stuff.
So… if you’ve been under a LOT of stress, and your skin is looking tired and dull, use this mask to instantly brighten it up!
I like to put this one on, and then watch an episode of “This is Us.” My idea of a perfect evening!
The only issue is…when I inevitably cry, it messes with my mask. 😉
How to Use
Apply a generous layer to the face and neck, avoiding the eyes.
Leave on for 10 minutes, allowing the mask to dry. Rinse off with warm water and gently pat dry.
You can use it 2 to 3 times a week or as needed.

Option #2 | Intense Hydrating Mask
The Intense Hydrating Mask is ideal if your skin feels dry, tight or rough, which happens quite a bit when live at 9500 feet.
The mask contains hyaluronic acid, which plumps the skin… And, other key ingredients, which hydrate, and help lock in moisture.
The mask is perfect before long flights.

To test this one out the RIGHT way, I lit some of Colleen’s wonderful candles, applied the mask… and then got in the hot tub!
You can also hop into a warm bubbly bath. PURE HEAVEN.
How to Use
With this mask, again you apply a generous layer to the face and neck.
Leave it on for about 15 minutes. If you want to… try taking a tissue and wiping off excess and sleep with the rest absorbed into your skin.
Or rinse and pat dry.

New Product
I was pretty freakin excited when Colleen came out with her Retinol Supreme Night Oil for the face (mixing Retinol with her amazing No. 9 oil).
I use this before applying moisturizer, twice a week. Colleen’s newest product…which I JUST got my hands on… might be EVEN MORE EXCITING (hence, kissing the bottle above.)
It’s called, Retinol Supreme Eye Serum. We all know Retinol is the holy grail of skincare, so having an effective option, that is safe for the eye area… is awesome!
The serum helps reduce fine lines around the eyes. This is exactly what I need. I’ll keep you posted on the progress.

My Picks…
If you are new to the line, I would highly recommend getting her Discovery Collection to try it out. It’s contains many of my favorites in travel sizes.
I’ve always been a huge fan of her Radiant Cleansing Balm, and Extreme Recovery Cream. I also LOVE her Mandelic Acid Radiance Serum.
I just picked up the Vitamin C Treatment Complex, which I’m eager to incorporate into my skincare routine… as I know how amazing vitamin c can be.
