1) PatBo Maxi Dress
After leaving the Banyan Tree Mayakoba, our family traveled to Tulum which is about an hour away. Of course, dummy mommy forgot her packing cube with swimsuits. I called the resort and they offered to mail it to the US. But, this snafu presented an immediate problem, I need to buy a swimsuit. So, Elizabeth and I braved the dusty road and sweltering hot temps in Tulum and set out on our quest. Our last stop was a higher end store that had some contemporary brands that I knew like PatBO (Brazilian line). I grabbed some of their swimsuits and headed for the fitting room. Elizabeth pleaded, “Wait, mommy! You have to try on this dress!” I took a look and immediately dismissed it because of the cutouts, but she insisted so I brought it into the fitting room with me.
The moment I put it on, I fell in love. Have you ever experienced that feeling before? It happens to me quite a bit because I really DO love clothes. This dramatic beach maxi restored my love of clothes…and even shooting because I couldn’t wait to shoot this dress on the beach.
PatBO is known for their super sexy cutouts and the placement of these, along with the circular detail under the bust, draws the eye to the thinnest part of the body and really creates the illusion of a waist. The satin-jersey material around the bust, tummy, and back keep everything secure and in place. And the crocheted skirt and sleeves are absolutely gorgeous. As you can see in the photos, the crochet is see-through. The color is also so beautiful. I know this is a very pricey dress, so I linked other options above.

Another statement dress that really packs a punch. This one by Staud is the perfect mix of bold and elegant. The over-sized silhouette will hide EVERYTHING but the halter neckline adds a sexy touch and shows off toned shoulders and arms.
