The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is officially open to everyone! Today is the start of Public Access so even if you’re not a Nordstrom cardholder and didn’t have early access, you can shop RIGHT NOW!
My goal is to save you time and make shopping this HUGE sale simpler! 1) Free People Sweater
Looking for a basic sweater you can wear into the fall and winter? This sweater by Free People is my #1 favorite from the sale! I love the v-neck which is universally flattering. The length is great too…not too long or short. The color is neutral and versatile. And, the fabric; it’s SO soft and wonderful, you’ll never want to take it off! Wear it off one shoulder for a dash of sexy.
It runs true to size.
2) Steve Madden Booties
These super chunky Steve Madden boots have a thick lug sole that’s a very big trend right now. These were a little out of my comfort zone, but I ended up really liking them! They have a cool combat boot feel. They run true to size and I’m wearing a 7.5. You can find more of my favorite booties here.
3) AG Jeans
I love these slim boyfriend jeans by AG and brought them with me to Spain. Baggy and more relaxed fit jeans are where we’re headed in the fashion world. So, these jeans are a great option if you want to dip your toe into the trend without going all in. They’re also a great length (I’m 5’4”). They run true to size, I’m wearing a 26. 4) Gorjana Necklace
If you’re looking for a basic everyday pendant necklace, this Gorjana pendant is great! You can layer it with other necklaces and it makes a big enough impact to your look without being over the top! If you’re looking for more everyday jewelry, make sure you check out this post.
5) Paige Booties
I shared these booties in this post where I featured two pairs of boots you’ll wear with everything this fall and winter. These Paige booties are going to be your dressier pair of booties. But you can still wear them with jeans for an elevated casual look. I love the sleek and sexy pointed toe. The block heel makes them super easy to walk in but they still add some height. The slanted side zip makes them super easy to get on and off. Plus, they’re super chic and comfortable! They run true to size and I’m wearing a 7.5. They are a little pricey but the quality is SO good and they’ll last you a couple of years!
6) Paige Jeans
The silhouette of these Paige jeans feels super fresh and modern! I love the minimal distressing and the super high rise. They’re also super comfy! They run TTS.
7) Nordstrom Poncho
This Nordstrom poncho is super comfortable and I love how easy and chic it is with jeans. You could also style it with leggings for a pulled-together lounging look at home. It’s a wool and cashmere blend so it’s super soft and cozy. During the sale, it’s $99! For a wool & cashmere sweater, that’s a great price point…after the sale, it will be $149. I love the ivory but it also comes in black, olive green, brown taupe, and red.
8) BB Dakota Dress
I was pleasantly surprised by this BB Dakota dress! It’s super affordable and so chic. I love the smocked cuffs, flattering v-neckline, and the sleeves are great for us 40+ women who want arm coverage. I bought this one for Spain because it’s so easy to dress up or down. The perfect effortless everyday LBD. Note: it does run a little short so if you’re very tall, you can wear this as a tunic top!
9) Woven Mules
The shoes I’m wearing are a cool pair of woven leather mules by Vince Camuto. If you prefer to wear flats, this is a great option. They’re chic and unique! Plus, all Vince Camuto shoes are super comfortable!
10) Vince Dress
Here’s why you need this Vince dress over 40: 1) It has sleeves, 2) a longer hemline, 3) flattering neckline, and 4) a cinched waist! It also has a sexy split hem to kick it up a notch. This dress keeps going in and out of stock so if you see it in your size, grab it! It’s super versatile…I brought this with me to Spain, so you’ll be seeing more of it in the next few months!
11) P448 Sneakers
I have a few pairs of sneakers by P448 and love how comfortable they are! Plus, they’re super stylish and on-trend. If you love the white sneaker look, but not the price, grab these or these.
12) Veronica Beard Tee
This navy tee by Veronica Beard is another great elevated basic I found while we were shopping. It has a puff sleeve and I love the navy color!
13) Beyond Yoga Activewear
I bought a pair of Beyond Yoga leggings and a tank from last year’s sale and have worn them so much that I’ve completely worn them out! This year, I bought this cute pink tank and matching leggings to replace my old ones. I’ll be taking this set to Spain so I can do a little Tracy Anderson in our Madrid apartment. The leggings are super flattering, and you’ll feel secure. They are also really soft, don’t ride up, and don’t stick to your skin. The tank is the exact same lovely fabric. I like the pink but the set also comes in a pretty oatmeal and blue.
14) Blank NYC Jacket
Denise is wearing the green Blank NYC quilted jacket. This is a great piece to throw on over a casual look for an extra layer of style. Denise said that the jacket runs really big. In the photo above she’s wearing a medium but ended up purchases the XS.
15) Nordstrom PJs
These pajamas are SO soft and comfortable! I have them in the pants version and shorts version. This pink striped pattern is from last year but there are three other options available.
16) Spanx Faux Leather Leggings
These Spanx leggings usually sell out within minutes so grab them if you see your size! I love these leggings and they’re super popular. You can wear them with sneakers and a sweater or dress them up with boots and a blazer. They’re a great pair of leggings to have in your closet! They run true to size but very long.
17) NeuBrow Serum Set
Thicker brows are definitely IN! A thicker, fuller, more natural brow is much more youthful. Did you over tweeze in the 90s’ like I did!? My brows were SO thin. I’ve grown mine back over 6+ weeks using NeuBrow growth serum. My brows have grown 2-3 times thicker and I’m loving it!
18) Free People Tee
I’ve owned this cool Free People tee for a while but now it’s on sale! I love that it’s a basic with a twist. The ruching the sleeves gives it an extra style detail that adds interest.
19) 1. State Cami
If you don’t already have a basic cami in your closet, this is a great option! I suggest getting it in black and white because it’s a great price point on sale and you’ll wear it with SO much!
20) Monica Vinader Necklace
If you’re a longtime subscriber or follower, you know that I love Monica Vinader. All of her jewelry is so beautiful and well made. This dainty necklace is the perfect everyday piece, it layers beautifully, and it’s so gorgeous. You can see me wearing it with pretty much every outfit in this video.

Do the Halogen cropped faux leather pants work on a petite size, 5’2”?
I’m 5’4″ so they would be two inches longer on you. Cropped pants in general cut off the legs, but if you wear them with dark booties… you will keep your legs looking long. Black pumps will elongate your body too. Erin xo

I love all your picks. I have already purchased (based on your recommendations) the sorel boots, the v neck sweater and the rag and bone straight leg jeans that you recommended earlier. they are all wonderful purchases. Now i am looking at the halogen faux leather pants and wondering about the sizing. The reviews say they run a little small, but the description says tts. Would you recommend sizing up? Thanks!!

True to size. No issue with thin-ish socks.
What I love most about this is that we have some Erin favs with 2 different body types! Erin, this would be a great idea for your future you tube and blogs. It helps those of us medium/lg sized and above would look with your same outfit! Loved this!

Looks like the necklace sold out. I bought it from Bloomingdales. I checked and it’s not there. Dillard’s also carries Robert Lee Morris, but not there either. I prefer the Frame jacket because of the color. It’s more of a cool red tone. The Sanctuary one has a lot more orange… more of a spicy or warm red.
I prefer matte shadows- my eyes are a mess due to years of rubbing them because of allergies, so i really can’t wear shimmery shades. Do you know if charlotte tilbury, or anybody, makes palettes that are just matte? Also, i’m curious. When you purchase a new piece such as moto jacket, do you pass the older ones on to charity or friends, etc or do you just keep them all as a collection?

My first bigger purchase will probably be a moto jacket. I just cant decide on what color…do you have any tips oN that decision? I’m tall, thin, have silver long hair, in my late 40’s. Yeah, Erin! Great choices! Hopefully I placed all of this order through your link. Seemed a little confusing when I left your picks and tried to get to just the full sale site. The embedded link didn’t work like I expected it to. But… I’ve never placed this big an order before and am trying to calm myself down knowing that Nordstrom is so good about returns. I order multiple choices of black “rain” coats in multiple sizes in order to get it right. When with North Face choices, black t’s and sweaters, the Nike sneakers, zella hoodie. Hoping to do a black and red travel scheme.

What a mess! I managed to get the Stuart Weitzman booties I wanted at 3am but unfortunately was too tired to continue. Around 9am est I put a bunch of other items in my cart including the Alice & Olivia velvet jacket but due to the site being down it’s now sold out in my size. Very disappointed people on their Instagram account. First time doing their sale online and I can’t believe how horribly they handled this sale. Last year I stumbled onto the sale at the mall and got the Tory Burch boots you choose among other items so was eager to try online. Now I don’t even want the items not sold out.
You are SO right. It was a freakin mess. I was very disappointed too. I was so focused on ‘my picks’ for the site, that I didn’t order (or try to order until late morning) and literally it wouldn’t go through for hours. And, I’m still not sure it did cause I’m waiting on confirmation order. That said, I’m still excited! I can’t help it…
I hope they learn from this snafu and improve on it next year (and certainly for public access day on the 21st). TFS. Sorry you had such a hard time. Erin xo

I’m really happy I was able to get the Stuart Weitzman boots so I can’t really complain. I did go back and get a few more items including two more boots, the Franco Sarto Paivley in the burgundy and Steve Madden grand bootie although I’m thinking these might be too young. We shall see. Bloomingdale’s has been my go to store for 30 years and they’ve been having their own sale this week. No similar Alice & Olivia velvet jacket on their site but they have a beautiful Satin Blazer and a Cropped Bow Collar jacket at 25% off. They have a gorgeous Lupita Embroidered Halter Maxi dress that would look lovely on you.
