Find a fabulous, printed maxi…And it’s a show-stopper! Get it wrong and you are walking wallpaper.
The key is finding a chic, tasteful print in a small scale. Smaller scale prints will keep you looking slim and tall. Larger prints tend to make you look larger.
FIT: The fit is very important as well. To maximize your height, opt for a longer hemline, one that dusts the floor. If you are already quite tall, you can choose shorter hemlines. A high-low hemline can work for either tall or petite women.
Since the skirt is long, you can afford to show a bit more skin on top. Halter necklines, strapless, sleeveless, v-neck, scoop neck…all are great at showing off your beautiful arms, shoulders and chest. If you are busty, choose thicker straps (skip dainty ones). If you carry weight through your tummy, find an empire waist maxi.
STYLING NOTES: One of the best parts of wearing a maxi is… you can dress it up or down. Keep it casual and wear it with metallic flip flops, or dress it up a bit more with a wedge or strappy heel. With prints, you are already pretty bold, so keep jewelry relatively neutral.
WHAT I’M WEARING – I’m SO sorry to say this dress is no longer available at H&M. That’s the thing about shopping at H&M, things are only in the store or online for like a minute.
BUT, here’s the GREAT news…I spent a good chunk of time picking out beautiful printed maxi dresses for all budgets.
Be sure to scroll through (below) and find a printed maxi that’s perfect for you!
