This is an outfit I wore recently for my TV segment with “San Antonio Living.“
When you are going to be on TV, it’s best to wear a color that really pops. ‘Elle Woods’ pink is one of my best colors. You have to figure out what color works best for your skin tone. When in doubt, think about the color you get the most complements in…that is generally one of your colors…or go with blue. Blues always work well on TV.
I also think it’s wise to cover your arms. I know many news anchors and hosts will wear sleeveless sheath dresses or tops, but they typically have Michelle Obama-like arms. Even those with slender arms can sometimes regret the decision to go sleeveless. So again, when in doubt, opt for sleeves.
Notice I am light on jewelry. Since my top has a print, I chose to skip a necklace, and wear gold hoops instead. When appearing on TV, you should avoid stacking bangles that can make noise, or a heavy necklace that might bump into the microphone. Oh, and obviously take off your sunglasses…

TIP: Don’t be scared of color. A bright blazer can really brighten your face and look fabulous on TV!
TIP: These jeans are so stretchy, I wore them while I was four months pregnant…buttoned! You should probably size down when ordering these. If you are normally a size 29, order 28. These are tough to find in your size and are almost always sold out, but are definitely worth the hunt or wait. When you click on this link, you can add to the wait list at Saks.

TIP: When wearing a shell under a blazer in the summer, think about something that will still look chic without the jacket. This top is printed, but it’s a very subtle print so it doesn’t distract from the great detail in the blazer.
TIP: When searching for a black bag that will work well for everyday, make sure: 1) it’s a good, medium size (so it will hold a lot, but not huge), 2) it has minimal hardware for maximum versatility 3) great quality

TIP: Find a size and frame that works for your face and buy in both brown and black
TIP: A medium sized gold hoop is one you can wear daily, with or without a necklace. You want to find a pair that is big enough to have some impact, and small enough to pair with other jewelry.
