Slide-On Sandals For The Win!
My old neighbor in Texas used to say, “I need some summer in my life.” It’s right about now that I start to feel that way. Can you relate?? 😉 You’re just ready for a breezier schedule, longer, sunnier days and more time outside. Not to mention vacations! I’m excited to share that this year, I finally feel like a vacation is really a vacation! Now that Gage is almost 12 and Elizabeth is 9-years old, they are pretty self-sufficient. This phenomenon of actually enjoying family vacations only took 12 years! 😉
This summer, we are doing things a little differently. Instead of staying put in Telluride, our family is going on a cross-country road trip for the whole summer. We are also planning on traveling to Europe after that and enrolling the kids in a Spanish school, hopefully in Spain. That means I have to pack for SIX MONTHS. Chris says I get one carry-on suitcase and a tote…(and maybe a little extra for camera gear). Ugh. Wish me luck!
In order to pack lightly for six months, I have to be really strategic about everything…especially shoes, which tend to take up the most room.
Sandal Criteria
For me, I have two must-haves when it comes to buying sandals: 1) Comfort and 2) Easy to get on and off
Even if you’re not going on a huge road trip, comfortable, slide on sandals are a necessity for summer. I love this pair (pictured above) from Express so much I bought them in both white and tan. They have a manageable heel (3″) which seems smaller, they’re quilted, which I’ve talked about being very on-trend this season, they can be dressed up or down, and they’re comfortable! You can find a few more of my favorite slides I have my eye on this summer below. They all have that same grab-and-go ease, ranging from dressy to casual. And all of them are chic and comfortable!
If you’re interested in more summer shoes or accessories, then you should check out my favorites here and here.

1
Marc Fisher Woven Slides
These Marc Fisher slides have a woven strap that mimics the quilted versions we are seeing everywhere. I love the squared toe and they come in five colors (including a pretty gold metallic).
2
Ruched One Band Slide
Ruching is another hot shoe trend this summer. This pair from Express comes in cognac and black. Simple elegance! They are both effortless and budget-friendly.
3
Loeffler Gold Bow Slide
If you’re looking for a luxe pair of summer shoes, you’ll love this Loeffler Randall pair! They have a padded footbed so they're more comfortable but they're super chic and sophisticated. They would be perfect for an outdoor wedding OR to elevate a casual look with jeans or shorts.
4
Loeffler Pleated Knot Sandal
Here is the slightly sexier older sister of the Loeffler flat slide with a very manageable 2-inch heel. Perfect for any event and super easy to walk in, these are gorgeous! They run narrow so that is a consideration if you have wider feet. Otherwise, they run true to size.
5
Sam Edelman Adjustable Slide
For those of you with wider feet or higher arches, these are perfect for you! The adjustable buckle allows you to get a custom fit and they are very lightweight. They come in 8 colors including an edgy pewter metallic and a hot summer pink.
6
Sam Edelman Wedge Slide
This is another adjustable option, but with a 1-inch platform. I'm only 5'4" so when I can get some added height, I'll take it! They are grounded in white giving them a casual and sporty vibe that would be perfect with shorts or when it's just too hot to breakout your sneakers!
7
Vince Camuto Woven Strap Slide
This sleek sandal has a woven padded strap and low (1.5") block heel. A thick block heel makes any pair of shoes way easier to walk in and comfortable! If you haven't tried a pair of block heel sandals for summer yet, trust me, you'll love them!
8
Dolce Vita Braided Sandal
These blogger faves were sold out in February but are back AND available in 7 different colors. They also have a manageable (yup!) block heel. So chic and sophisticated!
9
Sam Edelman Platform Slide
These slides offer a comfortable, 3 inches of oomph! They have a padded footbed and padded band. Yay for padded anything when it comes to easy-breezy summer shoes, right?! I had an older version of these sandals a few summers ago and loved them so I think it's time for an upgrade!
10
Stewart Weitzman Slide
If you are looking for a one-and-done vacation shoe, pack these! They are casual enough for the beach or pool but you could also wear them with shorts, dresses, and jeans. Super versatile!
11
Eloise Bow Slides
Sometimes an all-black sandal can look a bit heavy for summer. But these goatskin, 2-toned, bow slides are light and stylish.
12
TKEES Sarit Sandal
Classy simple sandals. TKEES are known for comfort. There's elastic on the lower strap for a little extra stretch.
Where will your dog be while you are gone for so long?
How long will you be in Europe?
It all sounds so exciting!
She came with us…she loves to travel! And we’ll be away until our house is built in Colorado (hoping for December)! Thanks so much for following along, Michele!
I bought the Christian Louboutin white slides and they are a dream!
