Picking out the perfect mirror for any space can be difficult. And a lot of the time, you’ll buy something, try it out in your home, and have to return it. Does that happen to anyone else!? But since we’ve recently updated a few things in our home, I feel like I’m a mirror shopping pro! Below you’ll find a few things to consider when mirror shopping and four of my favorite mirrors that are in our Telluride house!

What To Consider When Shopping for Mirrors
- Size – You’ll want to choose a mirror with the right scale for the size of your wall. You don’t want to put a teeny tiny mirror on a huge wall unless you’re planning to fill it with more art or accent pieces. Reading the product details online is SUPER helpful so make sure you do that. If you’re shopping in-store, make sure you know the wall measurements and then bring a tape measure with you so you can measure the mirrors you are considering for your space.
- Shape – There are tons of mirror shapes! The most traditional are rectangle, square, or round. But you can go for something that’s more fun like a sunburst mirror, oval mirror, diamond, octagon, arched, etc. that makes a statement! It depends on what look you’re going for in your space.
- Style – The style of the mirror has more to do with what the frame looks like and/or is made out of. There are wooden frames that can complement the color family of the rest of the wood in your home. Or you could try a glass frame for a sleek, sophisticated look. A simple metal frame is another option. Or try something super glam to really pack a punch!
- Color – Along with style, consider the color of the mirror frame! You’ll see below that we have a fun arched blue mirror in a guest bathroom that’s so much fun! Think about what color mirror will either go with or stand out against the rest of the room!
My Antique Mirror
I love the story behind this mirror…I’ve had this antique tin mirror for almost 20 years! I bought it when I lived in my studio apartment on the upper west side in New York City. I still remember picking it out at the flea market that I often visited each Sunday. I even remember the name of the shop. You can find some similar mirrors here. I put some other standout mirror options below. It’s amazing how something so simple like a mirror can make me feel more at home here in Telluride. I love seeing a piece I’ve had for so many years hanging in our living space!
Hallway Mirror
My sunburst mirror is sold out in silver but I’ve linked the gold version for you. It’s beautiful, modern… and makes such a statement. Its eye-catching design adds textural and sculptural elements to our hallway. It has a round 7.75” mirror centered among metal arms of varying lengths with an overall dimension of 40.9”. Bedroom Floor Mirror
I love the popular Anthropologie mirror that you see blowing up your IG feed (linked here). But it’s a little too feminine for my style so I decided to go for a more industrial-inspired floor mirror. It also matches our console table. Since that wall in our bedroom is so big, I wanted to fill it with a large mirror and I think this one is perfect!

Blue Bathroom Mirror
Finally, I wanted to share a colorful option! I love this blue mirror and how it brightens up the bathroom. Having a pop of color is always fun and the bathroom is an easy place to add it because it doesn’t necessarily have coordinate with as much. It’s a bit more complicated to add something bright blue to a living room, since it has to work with so many other pieces!
