The culotte, like the gaucho, is a pair of cropped trousers, falling somewhere below your knee and above your ankle.
What is the difference?
It’s definitely confusing, and they are VERY similar, but in a nut shell:
CULOTTE pants look more like a skirt.
GAUCHOS are not meant to look like a skirt, more like traditional pants.

STYLING NOTES:
Because culottes and gauchos fall around mid-calf, they can cut you off and make you look shorter.
Wear them with wedges, heels or nude shoes to keep your legs looking longer and leaner. A similar toned blouse or top will help too.
