My Favorites On Sale
Yay! A Shopbop sale! I love sharing these sales with you because they only happen about twice a year. Instead of rounding up a ton of items to shop, this post includes my top 10 picks from the sale that I actually own and love. This is a perfect time to pick-up any of those high-end items you’ve had your eye on. It’s a buy more/save more sale, so the discount gets more generous as your cart gets more full!

#1) Rails Cotton Shirt
Are you surprised this is my #1 pick from the sale?? If you’ve been here a while, you know how much I love this shirt! Rails is an amazing brand for button-down shirts. This one is my favorite basic white button-down for summer. It’s 100% gauzy cotton so it’s lightweight and keeps you cool. It definitely has a more casual, relaxed look but is a body-skimming fit to give you shape. I like to roll the sleeves up and tuck it into the front of my jeans or tie it in a knot at the waist.

#2) Amanda Uprichard Midi Dress
I love a gorgeous midi dress for spring/summer…it’s elegant but effortless! All you have to do is throw on some sandals and you’re ready! This Amanda Uprichard dress has a pretty ruffled trim, 3/4 sleeves, and a v-neck. If the v-neck feels too low for you, you can wear a pretty white lace cami for more modesty! Another advantage of a summer midi dress is that you get more coverage while remaining cool.
If you’re looking for more white dresses, check out this post! I also shared white resort dresses here, maxi dresses here, and Easter dresses here.
#3) Self Portrait Trench Dress
There are a looooot of pretty dresses included in this Shopbop sale so if you don’t have that checked off your list, now is the time! Does anyone remember this cool trench-style dress from last year? It’s no longer available in the green but I love the tan color because it’s even more versatile and easy to style! This dress is business in the front and party in the back. It’s a trench-style dress in the front that’s so chic. And the back has a small cutout opening giving it a sexy twist. The smocking around the tummy is really flattering and I love the flared hemline. It’s the perfect mix of masculine and feminine!
#4) ba&sh White Top
Ba&sh has quickly become one of my go-to brands! Their blouses are SO gorgeous, have beautiful design details, and the quality is so good I know they’ll last for years. I haven’t had a chance to take a hi-res photo of this shirt but it’s on sale so I had to share! I love the crochet details and super lightweight cotton material.

#5) Moussy Vintage Shorts & Jeans
I LOVE Moussy Vintage jeans and have quite a few pairs. So, when I saw that they had denim shorts, I knew I had to try them. And…I love them! They’re comfortable but the denim is stiff enough to make you feel secure. The length (3” inseam) and high rise (10”) are great! And I love the distressing and raw hem! They also have plenty of room around the leg so that they have that looser-looking fit! These shorts sell out FAST every time they’re restocked so if you see your size, grab them quick!

If you’re wondering about how to find age-appropriate denim shorts over 40, this post is a must-read!
#6) Agolde Shorts & Jeans
For a lower-priced jean short option that’s just as nice, try these Agolde shorts! These were my go-to denim shorts before I found the Moussy pair but I will definitely keep wearing them every summer! This brand, Agolde, is a line by the same designer as 7 For All Mankind and Citizens of Humanity…both amazing denim brands! These shorts give me a 90s vibe I love, but with a twist. I love the minimal distressing, raw hem, and high waist. These are not your average high waist shorts…they have a 12.25” rise! So you feel very secure and tucked in. The inseam is 4” so they’re not too short and completely cover your bum. The shorts I’m wearing are the Dee Shorts but our editor, Susan also loves the Parker Long Shorts if you want to check those out too!

#7) Alexis Dress
This Alexis dress has interesting little details that are so pretty…the lace hem, tassel on the tie cinched waist, voluminous balloon sleeve, and ruching around the shoulders! The cinched waist and flared skirt are super flattering. And it’s 100% poplin cotton, which feels quite silky and cool on the skin. It also doesn’t wrinkle quite as easily. You’ll love the coverage from the 3/4 sleeves! I also just ordered this Alexis dress in green that’s similar to the white but in a midi length, super comfortable, and so chic and flattering. It’s only available in pink right now but it’s such a great dress it would be pretty in any color!
#8) White Jonathan Simkhai Dress
I know that this is not the most high-quality picture of this dress, but I haven’t gotten a chance to shoot nice photos of it… And I just couldn’t wait to show you! I love everything about this dress…the fabric is lightweight and breathable, the neckline is flattering, the sleeves are dramatic (but you can push them up or roll them if you want), and the gold chain detail is SO cool! The cutout is pretty small and the tiny bit of skin you’re showing is contrasted by the all-over coverage of the longer hemline and sleeves.
If you want a better look at the dress, make sure you check out this post on IG so you can see the dress in motion!
#9) Veja Sneakers
Does anyone remember this post where I reviewed the popular Veja sneakers? I talked about their break-in time, the different styles, and more. They’re a great, affordable alternative to the Golden Goose sneakers too. The exact color I’m wearing above isn’t on sale but I love this neutral pair for summer! I also love this pair and this pair.
Check out my full review of the sneakers here.
#10) Loeffler Randall Sandals
These Loeffler Randall sandals are gorgeous! I love the beautiful gold color and low heel. They’re comfortable and the perfect shoe to elevate a casual look or pair with a dress for a special event. I styled these shoes a bunch of ways in this video in case you’re interested in seeing more ways to wear them!
Bonus) Cinq a Sept Joggers
I shared these joggers in a recent video where I talked about one of the most popular color combos this year…black and white! They’re some really fun, edgy cargo joggers by Cinq a Sept that will be perfect for summer because they’re so lightweight! The fabric is silky and soft. The inseam is a little longer but they still work for me and I’m 5’4”. They aren’t on sale in black but they come in a gorgeous ivory color that’s equally versatile! If you’re looking for a more casual pair of joggers, I also love these Norma Kamali pants I’ve had for years. By the way, the top I’m wearing is also on sale and has been another long time favorite!
Wardrobe Basics on Sale!
By the way, I shared my full spring/summer capsule wardrobe here in case you’re interested. Quite a few of the pieces are part of the sale and linked below…

Hi Erin
You look fantastic in all of these items! Unfortunately for me, all of these are way out of my price range even with the sale.
While I do like the look of denim shorts, I find that they are most suited to those lucky ladies with slender legs like yourself. You look great in them! As for me, my thighs are my problem area (even with being a long-distance runner) so they wouldn’t work for me.
I will continue to follow your blog and posts because this 61 yr old has learned so much from you! Thanks!
Hi Maureen! Thanks SO much for your feedback. We just added a section at the end of the post with some of our favorite more affordable brands at Shopbop!
