This is the time of year when I get bored with the winter uniform…
And… I start reinventing stuff.
It’s fairly easy to do and much more affordable than buying new clothes.
One of the easiest pieces to transform…is your little black dress.
If you have a good one (versatile, classic, minimal design details) there are a lot of looks you can create.
You can layer over it… and under it.
You can wear tights, no tights. Tall boots, ankle boots, pumps or strappy sandals.
Belt, no belt.
Well, you get the picture.
Above, I styled the same black dress, 3 different ways
I think these looks are all simple to recreate and appropriate for all ages, and body types.
Let’s break them down:
LBD LOOK #1
I would call this winterizing your LBD.
Wear patterned or solid opaque black tights, ankle boots, add a moto jacket, a pendant necklace…
And you’re done!
For even more warmth, you can throw a bow blouse or high neck blouse under your LBD.
A black turtleneck would also look very chic.
This moto jacket is by Doma and it’s sold out.
But I gave you some other, similar options below.
I think you could wear this look to work, dinner or an event.

LBD LOOK #2
My favorite part about this look are the shoes.
They look just like the Aquazzura “Wild Thing” sandals, but they are only $60!
I’m also loving my new pink, floral drop earrings.
They remind me of Oscar de la Renta, but again, for a lot less ($38)!
It’s easy to throw a leather jacket or blazer over your LBD.
I really love the pink and black combination too.
I would wear this to dinner or a daytime or evening event.

LBD LOOK #3
This last look, I featured in a separate blog.
You can check that out here.
A blanket wrap serves a practical purpose, by adding warmth during the cooler months,
but it also adds interest and sophistication to your LBD.
I belted mine to create more definition and shape.
This gold necklace has been a surprise heavy hitter for me.
I wear it a LOT. Here’s another look with that necklace.
I also LOVE my black, suede over the knee boots.
I’ve had this pair for about ten years.

I hope that helps you breathe new life into your winter wardrobe.
Let me know if you have any questions and as always, thank you for stopping by!
