I test drive a ton of beauty products. And not because I’m a beauty writer. No, that’s too easy. Quite frankly, I’m just a beauty junkie waiting for an eye cream to love her. From nail polish to hair and make-up to skincare, I’m always on the look-out for the latest and greatest. Fortunately, there’s no shortage of new product launches and buzzworthy beauty products to try. The good news is that there’s a lot to like right now. So, let’s peek at those that are (and aren’t) worth your money. For the best, affordable beauty finds, make sure you check out this post.

Ink Tint Lip Serum
I know, I know. It looks like something a 10-year-old would have. But hear me out. This lip tint is so good! Several shades. Great staying power. Fabulous texture. Get a couple for you and an extra one for the middle-schooler down the street :)
This line has flooded my Instagram feed for months. Totally hypnotic videos and tutorials. The shades are super fun and easy to apply. I love that it's pushing me out of my dark red/violet comfort zone. The staying power is consistent with most salon brands, so definitely worth trying.
Charlotte Tilbury Super Radiance Resurfacing Facial
This line does no wrong. Dipping their toes into skincare, this is a 2-in-1 acid exfoliator with 15% AHA, BHA and more that resurfaces and adds radiance for a great glow. Use this once a week at first to see how your skin reacts.
I recently did a purge of my makeup drawer and ditched about four different palettes in favor of this dreamy compact. Don’t be fooled by the intense-looking pigments and finishes. Instead, they brighten and flatter nearly all skin tones. This is ideal for spring/summer!
Full disclosure. I don’t have one of my own. I borrowed my hair stylist's Dyson dryer for a few days to see if it was worth the money. Now I know why most professional stylists use this on clients. It’s light, powerful and really does help deliver a much smoother blowout with no frizz. Hoping to get this as a gift for Mother’s Day. (Someone tell the hubs for me.)
This is a new favorite. Works so well at taming my naturally wavy hair. It’s not sticky and it doesn’t weigh my hair down. I also use this when I just air dry my hair (no frizz).
If there’s any celebrity that should create a skincare product, it’s Jennifer Lopez. No one has more gorgeously glowy skin than JLo herself. It’s the stuff of legends. Her line (eight products plus a mini kit) launched in January at Sephora and sold out almost overnight. I was only able to get my hands on the hero product, ‘That Glow Serum with Olive Complex.’ The packaging is super lux, bathed in gold and quite substantial – you’d expect nothing less from the Queen of Glow. The product is touted as a ‘mega-rich gel serum that visibly brightens, tightens, and lifts, while also providing all-day hydration and an instant glow.’
Unfortunately, this product was just MEH. I found the formulation a bit tacky and the finish of an egg-white coating. It didn’t really sink in - I definitely “felt” the serum. I finished an entire bottle in about 5 weeks (used twice a day as instructed) and didn’t notice any improvements. I don’t think I’m alone here either, as reviews are around 3-stars.

I’ve been super skeptical of the JLo line and it looks like my caution was justified. Sorry the product was a dud for you, though. I hate it when nice people don’t get their money’s worth.
Hi Gabrielle – Thanks for commenting. I love trying new stuff and was super curious about the JLo line so I just HAD to test it. I ordered several new items during the Sephora sale. Stay tuned on another round of product reviews as I think I nabbed some winners 🙂
