Outfit Ideas for SAH Moms
In the VIDEO above, I put together a small lookbook, with some outfit options for my stay-at-home moms!
These looks will also work for weekend wear or casual evenings. Some may even work for a very casual office environment.
Hopefully you’ll garner some ideas to take the guesswork out of getting dressed daily.
There is one caveat… if you are a NEW mom with kids under 1 year, please watch this TV segment video first.
All the looks are also listed below with links.
#1 | Day to Night
For Those Never-Ending Days
For those days when you start out running and never stop….I give you the black turtleneck, skinny jeans and ankle boots.
When your day has to start and stop in the same outfit, this can be your go-to look!
If black booties are on your shopping list, be sure to check out my picks under $100 here.
A mom on the move also needs a chic backpack. This one (above) is by Henri Bendel is one of my all-time favorites!
If you like a more structured backpack, be sure to check out this burgundy one here.

#3 | The Blazer & Topknot
The Blazer Will Make Everything Look More Polished
It literally doesn’t matter what you wear under it…cami, tee, sweatshirt, knit… once you throw the blazer on, your whole look goes up a few notches.
The blazer will instantly elevate your outfit, and should be a regular piece in your stay-at-home mom outfit rotation.
This exact blazer is on SALE, and it has a zip out dickey that you can interchange with other dickeys for that coveted, layered look
(without adding bulk).

#4 | The Hide Everything Cardigan
There’s No Shame in Hiding
You could hide a LOT under a cardigan… Your bum, tummy, love handles, panty lines…
The cardigan is also easy, cozy, and it always makes the whole look more pulled together.

Sunglasses are another way to hide a lot of stuff…late nights, puffy eyes, age…

And, thank you SO much for stopping by!
As a former stay-at-home mom I remember getting up at 5:00AM just to shower, do my hair and get dressed BEFORE my children woke up. From then it was non-stop. As they got older my day seemed to begin at 3:00PM. Pick up the kids at school, drop one off at soccer, one at dance. Go back and watch soccer practice and then to pick up my daughter. The older they were the later we would get home. Lots of pizzas and hot dogs. But they survived and now I would give anything for one of those crazy days.
I love this note, Kathy! I can’t imagine life without these crazy little people. I know it’s coming, but hard to picture. xo
Love the Socialite Ruched sleeve sweatshirt! My Nordstrom in Lone Tree, CO (Park Meadows Mall) also had it in cream, so I got both. Loving the long cardigan trend with boots and jeans too!
Agreed, Suzanne…LOVE! Didn’t know it came in cream too.. TFS!!
