A Backpack for Sophisticated Grown Ups (That’s YOU)!
Sometimes a piece is SO good, it deserves its own moment in the sun. Enter the chic, Rivington Convertible Tote/Backpack. Since trying a Henri Bendel backpack about four years ago, I’ve been a backpack convert. I forgot how freeing they are! They enable you to be hands-free…while also keeping your shoulders from aching because the weight of your bag is evenly distributed.
You might be thinking, I’m ___ years old. Backpacks are for kids in school or the college-aged crew, not for grown-ups. But, au contraire. They are SO helpful for women of ALL ages! There are SO many times I find my backpack to be helpful… especially when I’m traveling or have both kids in tow.

4-in-1
You can see in the pictures above how you can use this ONE Rivington Tote bag FOUR different ways! I love maximizing my investment! Of course, you can carry it like a backpack. The Rivington also has top handles so you can carry it like a traditional satchel. The straps easily convert to a crossbody bag if you prefer to have your bag on your hip. And, lastly, you can zip off the front pocket, open it up to find a silver, chain link handle and carry that slim bag like a clutch!

Backpack
I use the Rivington as a backpack a lot when I’m with the kiddos so I can easily grab things, carry things or hold their hands. I like to hold their hands when we are in different cities, like Santa Fe above. We traveled to this cool city for a sweet friend’s birthday. The Pueblo-Spanish style architecture make this city so unique, and definitely worth a visit! I feel like we still have so much to explore here. I would like to go on more hikes and definitely squeeze in more shopping!
Crossbody or Shoulder Strap
If you like to have your bag on your shoulder or hip for easy access, you can easily convert the straps so they sling across your body with ease. Make the length a little shoulder to carry the bag over your shoulder. This is great when you know you will be pulling things out of your bag quite often, like a camera, for example.
Traditional Top Handle Satchel
Using the top handles is the most classic way to carry the Rivington. Perhaps this is how you carry it to the office or out on the town. What I love about this structured satchel is… it is timeless. You’ll be able to pull it out of the closet five to ten years from now and it will still feel relevant. The white color is also incredibly versatile. You will carry it all summer! If you spill something on the bag, simply wipe it down. You can invest in a very affordable bottle of leather cleaner too to make sure it stays in pristine condition.
I can fit my tiny MacBook into this backpack, but not a larger laptop. If you want a chic backpack that will easily hold your laptop, take a look at the Jetsetter here.

Clutch
This might be my favorite part. It’s a feature of the bag that I get SO excited about, especially with travel. You can carry this ONE bag and still have your evening bag. How cool is that?? Simply zip off the front pocket, open the slim clutch to find a thin and chic chain-link strap.
Pocket Switch
And, even more genius and exciting…? You can swap out the pocket in the front to create a completely different look! If I change the pocket from white to bright yellow (like above), the bag looks much sportier and fun!

Outfit
The outfit I’m wearing in the pictures above is as timeless and versatile as the bag. The pants are amazingly soft and are perfect for travel, or days you simply want to be comfortable and chic. The jewelry is also from Henri Bendel. I am in LOVE with the green and gold combo. It’s great to add a pop of color to an otherwise all black and white look. It also feels effortless, not too fussy, which I really like too.
Santa Fe
Couple of quick things about Santa Fe, we stayed at Hotel Santa Fe which had apartments, rather than rooms. We booked a two-bedroom and had plenty of room for both kids and the dog. It’s a dog-friendly hotel too! A delicious, made-to-order or buffet breakfast is included. You can walk in all day and ask for cappuccinos, or grab a warm, homemade cookie out of the crockpot! I ate way too many of those!
