Channel Your Inner Boss Babe with a Cloffice
Working remotely, virtual school, being home, well … it’s the new norm. Not all of us can dedicate a room to a glam, Devil-Wears-Prada-like office space. This is why the Cloffice (closet + office) is quickly gaining popularity. Take advantage of an underutilized closet in a guest room, hallway, or under the stairs and try this compact set-up. Tiny but mighty, a basic, clutter-free workstation can keep you organized and inspired – maybe even sane. Read on for tips on how to create a workspace to call your own, and why the Cloffice is the best work from home setup! Come on lady bosses, let’s do this.

1
Cloffice Work Surface
First, depending on the size of your closet space, you need to select your work surface. Try a wall-mounted desk, floating desk or small stand-alone desk. Alternatively, you can install a pre-cut or custom wooden shelf. Also, ensure you have enough room for your computer and a place to write and spread-out paperwork. Of course, you’ll want to push a chair under the desk surface so measure accordingly.
2
Maximize Space
Next, make good use of your small space. If working with a narrow but tall closet, you need floating shelves for storage above your desk surface. This Etsy retailer offers custom shelving for the perfect fit. If you have a wide area, consider a set of drawers or shelves beside your desk. A ladder shelf would also be perfect in a Cloffice space.

Storage
Up next, storage and organization - super necessary when operating with a compact area! Storage baskets, bins, and drawers keep your surface area clean and orderly. This small office prep cart from Pottery Barn would be great in a Cloffice and even has wheels. Use rattan baskets to hide unsightly supplies and metal baskets for prettier items like books or magazines.

Lighting
Additionally, good lighting is essential for a productive workspace so make sure your Cloffice is bright, especially if natural light is limited. If wiring is an issue, use a battery-operated or rechargeable puck light. Using their adhesive backing, you can attach puck lights to a wall or under shelves. They can also adhere to the inside of a light fixture. Wait, no electrician? Yes! Insert a puck light inside a Cloffice-worthy adjustable wall sconce, then use the remote control to turn it on/off. To ensure it's secure, use a glue gun or gorilla glue (not the adhesive back) when affixing to a light fixture.

Add Your Personal Touch
Finally, if it looks good, it will feel good. Make your space pretty, comfortable and enjoyable. Replace that old mug pencil holder with a glam desktop organizer. What makes you happy? Music, candles, peel and stick wallpaper, a pretty whiteboard and most definitely a vision board are my go-to office essentials! Put some YOU into your office space!
Love it. What a great idea!
