The 4 Essential Beauty Hacks To Get You Through Every Holiday Party!
Beauty Hacks-Get Party-Ready, Fast!
Full disclosure. I haven’t been to a party in a while. I mean, a long while. But I have high hopes this year for oodles of social gatherings, including a couple of quite fancy outings. So, aside from getting used to heels again, I need to up my festive beauty game. Of course, sometimes I don’t have the luxury of a full night’s sleep or a leisurely hour or more of get-ready time. Instead, I rely on a few tried and true beauty hacks that somehow make me look rested, glowing, and ready to merry-make the whole night long. One of my favorite tips is to go ‘opposite’ of what you do day-to-day. For example, I wear my hair down 90% of the time. So when I go out, I put it up (high ponytail or messy bun) and wear bold earrings. It’s one less thing for me to worry about! Keep scrolling for more of my favorite (and easy!) party-ready, beauty hacks.

Easy Foundation Refresh
At the end of the day, even the most perfectly applied foundation has worn out its welcome. But who has time to wash their face and reapply? No one. So, I say spritz your face with water and apply an illuminating moisturizer all over. Then just dab concealer under your eyes and around your nose almost immediately after (the key here is to look hydrated). Done and done.
You freshened your skin, now it’s time to wake up those tired eyes. Of course, we know eye drops are a must (there’s nothing better than my fave below). But here’s a great trick to brighten your eyes further. Before applying any shadow, switch your go-to black or brown eyeliner pencil for a navy blue or green tone this holiday season. This will brighten the whites of your eyes and give the illusion that you've had more sleep. White liner on the inside lower lids also perks up the eye area.
If you don't have the time but still want to look very party-ready, I always say it’s time for a bright, bold lip. But instead of the usual holiday red, go for a rich, vampy plum paired with a thick coat of mascara. Add a quick, tiny dab of that same color to your lids. It’s bold, but not harsh. This is a quick makeup miracle that takes no time at all to apply but makes you look cool, modern and festive. Cooler complexions (think Mindy Kaling, Lupita Nyong'o, Cara Delevingne, Adele and Lucy Liu) look amazing in the first two shades below. While warmer skin tones (Jessica Alba, Viola Davis and Kim Kardashian-West) would rock the other two.
A gorgeously shaped bold brow is its own party. But getting the look just right can eat up the clock. That’s why I love these genius eyebrow stencils. Incredibly easy and nearly goof-proof, you will wonder how you lived without them.
