Can I wear black and brown together? I get this question ALL the time! I totally get that it’s unusual and somewhat tricky, so I want to give you my fail-safe formula for success when wearing a unique color combination like brown and black or navy and black.

Chic Brown and Black Outfit
Wearing black and brown together is a lot easier than you think! I share my #1 tip below…but first, let’s talk about this look that doesn’t follow the rules! This top by Lovers + Friends is beautiful! The deep espresso color makes it easy to wear with black because it is so dark. The wrapped neckline and ruching make it super sexy without showing any skin! I paired it with some ripped jeans by 7 For All Mankind that is super high rise and cropped (perfect for petites)! On my feet, I’m wearing my favorite knee-high, snake-embossed boots by Schutz. They’re comfortable (for heels), sexy, and versatile. I also have them in the python print! To bring the look together, I’m wearing my reversible Valentino belt. I know it’s a little pricey so another belt I love (not reversible) is this one.
How To Wear Black & Brown
If you’re still unsure, one fail-safe tip for combining black and brown…wear an anchor piece. For an easy way to wear black and brown, wear one key anchor piece that has black AND brown in it. To seamlessly wear brown and black or any unusual color combination, all you need to tie it together is… an anchor piece. So, what is an anchor piece? It’s an accessory or piece of clothing that incorporates BOTH colors, tieing color combinations like brown and black together. It makes your outfit and color choice look deliberate, more cohesive, and next level.
In the looks above…my anchor pieces are the leopard shoes and scarf!

I so agree with the brown/black combo! The same goes for your home decor as well, brown and black accents and grounding pieces lend to a very chick yet relaxed feel. Funny how the closet and the decor can look very similar:
Love your you tube! Thanks so much for all you share:)
Love brown/black, blue/black and blue/brown. Classic, chic! Am not into the ripped jeans look however. It detracts from classic lines.
rschmi03@gmail.com. Great post. I love that color combo. The links in the post don’t work for me. This happens alot. Is there somet on my end i can fix? I wanted to take a look at the black jeans. Thanks
