Self-care is important but too often we put it at the end of the list. Instagram can be a useful tool and platform to help you realize how to put your care first. Well, if not first, at least closer to the top. Instagram can also be a complete drain on our mental health. That’s why it’s so important to find Instagram accounts for self-care that will speak to you and actually help. Fill your feed with posts that will lift you up, help you set boundaries, realize some hard truths, and help you find the discipline to do the work of caring for yourself.
I’ve rounded up the top IG accounts to follow for self-care inspiration, motivation, and encouragement. These accounts are worth a follow! They bring a dose of reality and strength we can all relate to.
Molly Spodney – @mollyspodney
A mom, teacher, and spouse, Molly shares her wellness transformation with a huge dose of reality. She isn’t afraid to show her unfiltered life. Molly focuses on all parts of taking care of our bodies and spirit, and she does so with humor and grace.
Marissa Rehder – @Marissa.rehder
A mom and self-care life coach, Marissa is generous with her tips and insights into the work you need to do in order to change your life. She breaks it down, so it feels attainable. And she talks to you like a best friend. You know she wants you to succeed, maybe even more than you do, and she will push you to get there.
Laura Jane – @Laurajaneillustrations
Laura is an artist whose self-care graphics combine lighthearted images and strong messages on caring for yourself. She gives strategies, guides, and reminders that are easy to digest, but difficult to forget. Her message sticks with you.
Cyndie Spiegel – @Deargrownasswomen
This account is a community for “multifaceted, badass women 35 and over.” It encourages women to go after their dreams and their truth by creating a group where women do just that. Founder Cyndie Spiegel is a force in the world, and she inspires women to be unapologetically themselves.
Stephine Zito – @Selfcarespotlight
Stephine Zito combines beautiful images with messages about the real work of self-care. She doesn’t shy away from difficult topics, but she also gives you actionable advice on how to take care of yourself today.
Maria Grace Sosa – @holisticallygrace
Maria is a deep advocate for getting inside yourself and doing the hard work to better understand who you are. Her posts resonate truth and an uplifting look at all of life’s blessings. She gives you the grace to see your life your own way.
Melissa Mittereder – @Scentsandsage
Melissa Mittereder understands that life can throw us off our track at any time. Her career in the movie and TV industry came at a sacrifice to her wellness. She realized she needed to change her own life. No one was going to do it for her. And she is now dedicated to helping other women manage stress, so they are free to define their own purpose.
The Birdhouse – @The Birdhouse(El Nido)
I wanted to include one account that was about beautiful spaces. This one is ah-mazing! The Birdhouse, or El Nido, is an eco-hotel that caters to people looking for a retreat atmosphere. The views are spectacular and the food images make me salivate. The images are almost as good as being there in person … almost.
Kara Loewentheil- @Karaloewentheil
Kara Loewentheil is a J.D., Master Certified Coach, and host of the top-ranked UnF*ck Your Brain podcast, which climbed to #15 in the country in January 2021 in Apple Podcasts downloads. A revolutionary, she’s really the wise sister or friend who isn’t afraid to push your truths and challenge your limiting beliefs. Dissatisfied with women’s socialization to be “less than” in order to make other people comfortable, Kara has the brazen belief that your life should be lived as though it were your own.
Den Meditation- @denmeditation
Den Meditation provides meditation tips and insights, and leads guided meditations for all walks of life. They also give lessons and lectures on self-healing and other spiritual topics like angels, moons, crystals, and rest. If you’re interested in how to align yourself to cosmic nature and develop your inner wisdom, this is a great place for you to hang out.
