iPhone X Impressions and Review
In the video above and post below, I’m sharing my first impressions of the much anticipated iPhone X!
I include my thoughts on the screen size, face ID, camera and video, the cool glass back, screen features and (my favorite) talking emojis!
I’m very excited about this iPhone and I’ve gotten a little time to play around with it so I thought I’d share with you guys!
Screen Size
The first thing I noticed when I held the iPhone X up to my iPhone 6 Plus was that it looks so much smaller.
But, then I realized that the screen size of both phones is actually the same.
The iPhone X just has everything around the screen cut out.
So it looks like the size of a much smaller phone but has the same screen size as the iPhone 6 Plus.
I also like that when you’re holding the phone up to your ear it’s a little bit more manageable and that it’s smaller and lighter in your hand.
Face ID
The second feature that the iPhone X has is Face ID.
Rather than having to punch in a code or use your finger, you can simply look at your phone.
You do have to have your eyes open, and be looking directly at the screen in order for it to work.
I would say it works about 85 percent of the time and when it doesn’t work it’s very simple punch in your code.
I think it’s an interesting feature…I don’t know if it’s a game changer, but it definitely is very cool!
Camera & Video
I haven’t had a ton of time to play around with the camera and video features but I am very excited about it!
It has a front-facing portrait mode so you can take selfies and get that blurry background and beautifully detailed shots of whatever subject you’re capturing.
The iPhone X also has 4K video…which essentially means better video quality!
You can see how to enable 4K video in the video above.
Glass Back
The other big change for the iPhone X is… the glass back.
This does make the phone more fragile, but you can get a heavy duty case to protect it.
The glass back enables you to wirelessly charge your phone.
You do have to order the wireless charging pad separately.
But I think it’s really cool that you can wirelessly charge the phone.

Screen Features
The iPhone X does not have a home button.
Instead of pressing the home button to get out of an app or to your main screen, all you have to do is swipe up.
You can see me demonstrate how to do it in the video.
If not having a home button freaks you out, there is a way to add a digital home button on your screen.
Another thing is that if you want to screenshot something, you have to hold down both side buttons at the same time.
The last thing I want to mention is that the screen itself is clearer, crisper, and more vibrant!
Talking Emojis
One other fun little thing is that you can animate emojis using your face and voice.
So you select an emoji, press the red button, and then you have ten seconds to record yourself and make the emoji do and say what you want!
Then you can send your fun emoji as a text message!
