It is also typically more budget-friendly. Let’s dive in…

Trend #1 | Layered Necklaces
Layering necklaces has been on trend for a while and it’s easily my favorite. I layer my necklaces all the time. Above, I’m wearing a chic B initial necklace by Oscar de le Renta and a shorter chunky gold geometric necklace by Tohum. Both of these necklaces are gorgeous on their own. But when you layer them, it elevates whatever outfit you’re wearing. If you’re worried about how to layer your necklaces, Express has beautiful pre-layered options! The necklaces I’m wearing are a little pricey, but you can find less expensive options here and here.
Trend #2 | Chains & Links
Chunky chains and links aka "paperclip-style" are another trend that has been around since at least fall of last year. We’re seeing chains and links on bags, shoes, and in jewelry. And the chunkier, the better. For a more wearable way to wear them, look for a subtle chain necklace or linked earrings. I’ve included a few favorites below.
Pretty much any style of pearl is “in” right now. These aren’t your grandmother’s pearls though. Think layered pearls, mismatched pearls, misshapen pearls on gold chains, etc. Basically, anything with pearls is fair game. But I think you can do it in a really chic and sophisticated way with these pieces…
Huge, oversized drop earrings were all over the runways in London and Paris. It seems like more is more when it comes to this trend. I prefer my jewelry be a little more subtle. But if statement earrings are your jam, this trend is for you!
Textured metals, particularly hammered metal is really popular right now. Hammered gold, silver, and copper were all over the runways on earrings, cuffs, and necklaces. The Valentino bracelet below is just one chic example of this hammered metal trend.

Is gold specifically in fashion or is that just your personal preference?
Both are true…Yellow gold is super on-trend right now, but I also LOVE it! xo
Hi erIn
I hear your pain. Some days/weeks/months are like that. Sometimes Just GETTING to the end Of the day is enough to celebrate. You are pretty hard on youRself. Many women find that once we are in our fifties we find more peace and acceptance. In the meantime, you do need Some self-affirming coping strategieS. Wish i could take you out for coffee and a hUg; you need it.
Hi Erin, love your VIDEOS/youtube channel and your fashion adviCe. I’m a young 56 year old. Will you do a video Commenting on the NY fashion show? Thank fOr all you do. ????
I’m 53 and just can’t see myself in this huge jewelry. maybe a statement piece here and there. I do like belts and I can definitely incorporate a cool oversized belt into my wardrobe! That’s actually exciting for me! The huge hoops? meh. I’ve always been a hoop person but the new trend just doesn’t fit my style. Thanks for the always informative style choices that are up and coming or already here! You’re the best!
Hey Love,
I have never been comfortable in over sized, chunky jewelry. I am petite and prefer smaller pieces that are not overwhelming. However, I wear large hoops all the time.

Go with small-ish that still packs a punch!
