Microblading
Microblading | Before & After
What Is It?
Microblading is sort of like a tattoo for your brows.
It is applied by an expert, in my case, Jillian Carter from TheBrowBar.net.
Jillian used a hand-held tool — a teeny tiny knife that looks like the head of a eyeliner brush.
She carefully draws lines with the tool, putting pigment into the skin.
This pigment doesn’t go as deep as a normal tattoo.
How Long Does It Last?
1 to 3 years, depends on the person.
Does it Hurt?
I would rate it a 2 to 3 on the 1 to 10 pain scale (10 being the most painful).
How Do You Prepare?
If you want …you could have your brows shaped, and cleaned up, but I’m guessing most people who perform this procedure could also clean up your brows.
Jillian at “The Brow Bar” did a wonderful job of whipping my brows into shape before we started microblading.
What Is The Process?
First, numbing cream is applied.
Then your brows are cleaned up.
Next, you and your brow stylist select a color that most closely matches your natural brow color.
Lastly, you start microblading.
Downtime?
Your brows will be really dark for a few days, and shiny since you have to wear ointment at night.
You can’t wash, scrub, touch or get your brows wet for a few days.
There will definitely be a funky period, and you may freak out a little…
But don’t worry…what you see in that first week post procedure will NOT be the final result.
What is the Cost?
The Brow Bar charges $475, which includes the monthly follow up.
Be sure to check with your local location as prices will likely differ.
Why Do You Need to Come Back in a Month For a Touch Up?
My understanding is…the monthly follow up is your chance to right any wrongs.
Maybe one brow is slightly thicker or could use a few more strokes.
It also helps to really solidify the color.
