Mother’s Day Dresses
What do you typically do for Mother’s Day? I feel like when the kids were younger, we did brunches and fancier things like that. But now that the kids are older, we are almost always at a lacrosse tournament. This year, it’s one near Aspen. (Not like Aspen proper, which would be really cool. We are traditionally in a tiny neighboring town and locked into a busy lacrosse schedule). So long story short, no traditional Mother’s Day celebration for me, but I wanted to make sure YOU have the perfect dress to celebrate this VERY important occasion!! (Remember to watch this video if you’re thinking that it’s not important to dress up.)
Whether you’re having a Mother’s Day brunch, headed to church, or just doing something casual at home, no doubt you’ll love one of the dresses below. I wanted to find dresses that are chic, elegant, and most importantly versatile…so you can wear them for many other occasions too!

#1) Pink Dress
What…. this old thing? 😉 I mean… how gorgeous is this Elle Zeitoune sheath dress? I love the beautiful, and trendy bubblegum pink color for spring and summer. The wide ruffled shoulders, v-neck, and pleating around the waist all make this a super flattering dress on many different body shapes. (If you want some help figuring out what your body shape is, you can find everything you need here.) The ruffles make it ideal for my rectangular body. It would also work beautifully for triangle body shapes. The sexy v continues in the back! I am NOT wearing a bra with this. The fabric is thick enough, you don’t need one. P.S. I haven’t worn a traditional bra in a very long time. I’ve literally swapped tanks with built-in bras for the real deal. Since you’re showing a little more on top, it’s nice that it has a longer, more modest, midi length hemline to contrast the sexy.
More by Elle Zeitoune here.
Sizing note: I ordered a small and an extra small and kept small. If you’re between sizes, I’d size up.
Add Glam
To complete this look, I’m wearing a pair of the popular Mach & Mach crystal bow shoes. I’ve seen these shoes everywhere and I just knew I needed to try them. They’re so glamorous, beautiful, and dramatic! I always say that I like drama with my clothes…not my life. And these shoes really bring the drama factor up a notch! I know that they are very pricey. But I found another pair of statement heels I’d wear with this dress here that are by another one of my favorite shoe brands that always has super comfortable heels!
I’ll be sharing a full review of these Mach & Mach heels next week, including info on sizing, break-in time, and more!

#2) Yellow Dress
Anyone else obsessed with lemon yellow?? I love a yellow moment and this Monique Lhuillier is definitely a moment! The color is even prettier in person and the jacquard material makes it forgiving and wrinkle resistant…two of my favorite things. If you have any sort of special event coming up, this is the dress! The thicker band and tie at the waist are so flattering. Plus, the full, A-line skirt creates the illusion of a smaller waist. I also love the ruching at the bust. It runs true to size, I’m wearing a 4.
For some added coverage, I threw on my mint green Cinq a Sept blazer. You may remember this blazer from this post where I feature a European-inspired spring outfit. The color is gorgeous and the fit is SO good. I also love the mint green and yellow together. Unique color combinations are a big trend right now! Don’t be afraid to ‘go for it’ with color.
Accessories
To complete the look, I’m wearing the same Mach & Mach heels and my white Bottega Veneta bag I got last spring. I did a full review of this bag in this post. But since then, I’ve taken it on a cross-country road trip and all the way to Spain and back. I was pretty hard on it so it’s a little banged up, but all things considered, it’s held up beautifully and I’ll continue to carry it this summer!

What is the best part about being a mom for you? (And that includes fur babies, aunties, grandmoms). For me, it’s surreal and wonderful to be able to shape these beautiful, young minds, and watch them grow and develop. I think motherhood also gives me a deeper sense of purpose and legacy. Now you… please share in the comments.
