An Easy Way To Look Chic During The Summer (While Covering Arms)

As women over 40, we need outfits that make us look chic but don’t take too much time to put together…that’s where the shirt dress comes in. Throwing on a shirt dress is not only SO easy…it’s also flattering and chic.

#1 | A.L.C Chambray Dress

This cute shirt dress by A.L.C. is perfect for summer! The fabric is lightweight and breathable (50% linen, 50% cotton). It buttons down the front and has a super flattering belted waist. The length is perfect on me but if you’re taller than 5’4” it might be a little short. As soon as I put this on, I felt chic, sophisticated, and pulled together…That’s the beauty (and simplicity) of a shirt dress!

I styled the dress with Golden Goose sneakers. (I shared an honest review of the Golden Goose sneakers here in case you missed it.) And I finished off the look with some gorgeous Elizabeth Cole statement earrings that are unfortunately sold out. But I shared all of the jewelry every woman should own in this post!

#2 | A.L.C. Tan Dress

If you’re worried about the length of the first dress, this one is a great option! It’s super versatile, has a flattering belted waist, and a longer hemline! I love how this dress drapes. It’s so elegant. I shared more about this dress here and here. This was one of the pieces I was planning to take with me to Africa before the trip got canceled.
