Shoe shopping, although FUN in most cases, can also be overwhelming.
You want to buy the perfect mix, shoes that are:

~Stylish
 ~Affordable
~Comfortable

Here is how I approach shoe shopping each season.

1) Take Inventory

First, I think about what do I ‘want’ or ‘need’.
Consider your ‘needs‘ first.
For example, if you do not have a great flat spring/summer pair of flats… that should be your first priority.
Or maybe you ‘need’ a pair of spring booties.
Most of us need new sneakers each season as well.

Once you have the ‘need’ box checked,
You should consider what would make a great addition to your wardrobe.
Do you want statement shoes to wear with your kickflare jeans?
Are you on the hunt for the perfect pair of strappy sandals?

2) Get Inspired

I follow a lot of bloggers on Instagram.
And, I subscribe to a lot of blogs, but let’s face it…who has time to sift through ALL of that.
My magazines that I used to pour over are now collecting dust in a pile by my desk.
Instead I do a quick Pinterest search.
This is where you can find ideas and narrow down your search even more!
For example, you may see a pair of ankle strap sandals, and think… “I’ve really wanted a pair of those.”
Or maybe…you see a pair of bow sneakers you love.
Or some slip on mules…

3) Functionality

Next, you have to consider the functionality.
The shoes you buy have to be wearable and comfortable.
I have purchased a LOT of pretty shoes that I thought I could handle.
Only to decide later, it’s not worth the pain.
You know exactly what I’m talking about…
Every one of us has at least one pair of ‘those‘ shoes.

Brands I LOVE

So, you have to find brands you know are consistently comfortable.
One brand that I love…and talk about all the time is Sam Edelman.

I also really love Vince Camuto…
Both of these brands are consistently stylish and comfortable.

Higher end brands that I find incredibly comfortable are…
Loeffler Randall,
Marc Fisher
and Sea by Chloe.

As far as high end designers go, I think Saint Laurent and Prada are consistently the most comfortable.
I LOVE all Aquazzura shoes.
And, for the fashion-forward ladies… Gucci is the “it’ brand of the moment.

Ratings

You can also check customer ratings.
If there are more than a dozen reviews, and the rating is high…that’s a great sign!

The Comfort Category

You can also search specifically for ‘comfort,’ shoes.
Most larger retailers have comfort shoes selections.
