Let’s Call It Keyboard Up Dressing!
Even before Shelter-in-Place was enacted, those of us who work from home on the regular have been all about “keyboard up” styling. It’s the easiest styling secret to looking presentable while staying oh so comfortable all day long. The best part? Nobody ever has to know!
“Keyboard up” styling refers to dressing up only what you’re able to see, well, above your keyboard. I recommend investing in blouses that are equally chic as they are comfortable, and pairing them back to bottoms that can easily take you from your desk to dinner with the family. To further elevate this simple look, add your favorite dainty necklace and you’re good-to-go.
Although loungewear has been getting a major makeover lately (see my favorite cozy loungewear pieces here!), sometimes it just doesn’t do the trick when an important Zoom meeting is on the agenda.

Colorful Tops
Wearing brighter, beautiful colors on video calls is one of the tips in my How To Look Professional On Zoom video. Wearing bright colors will make you feel better and make you pop on the screen (in a good way)! #1, #2, and #3 are all beautiful options! Pink is a great color on most people and since #1 is a wrap style top, it’s also very flattering! The color yellow always makes me happy and #2 is the perfect way to add some brightness to your look! #3 is a blue fuzzy sweater for those of you looking for color and ultimate comfort!
Tanks & Shells
If you’re looking for tops you can wear under blazers or jackets or just prefer sleeveless tops…this row is for you! #4 is a top from Express that I featured in this post…I love it! And it’s a top you can style with pants for work or jeans or shorts for the weekends! #5 reminds me a lot of a smocked blouse I love by Frame. You can see me styling it in this post. This top would layer beautifully under a jacket or blazer! The last top (#6) is very elegant. I love a gorgeous white top and this one has a chic high neck and modern pleats.
Button Downs
A button-down is your most classic work shirt option! When you’re in a hurry and your video call is starting soon, throw on a button-down and you’re good to go! I’ve actually thrown on a button-down over a sports bra right after a workout before. They can’t smell through the screen! 😉
The first button-down (#7) has a more relaxed fit and I love the color! It’s by Frank & Eileen, a brand that makes very high-quality pieces( so it is a bit pricier). For something more affordable and classic, #8 is the essential shirt from Ann Taylor! Lastly, #9 is the second top I featured in this post. It comes in three colors, has smocked sleeves, and is super soft and comfortable!
