Thanksgiving Outfit Ideas
What do your Thanksgiving plans look like this year? It’s right around the corner and on top of everything else you have to think about, you may be thinking, “What the heck am I going to wear!?” There’s the food, who’s bringing what, table settings, centerpieces, etc… There’s actually a lot of thought and sometimes a great deal of stress built into this day. The last thing you want to worry about is what to wear. You’ll want to have that figured out ahead of time… and I’m here to help make choosing a Thanksgiving outfit an easy process!
If you need to bring a hostess gift to a Thanksgiving get-together, we share some great options here.

Deciding On The Best Outfit
First, you want to think about the tone and environment of your Thanksgiving. Will it be super casual? Are you having or attending a more formal dinner? Will you be on your feet all day? Next, determine how you want to dress and how you want to feel. Sophisticated, elegant, extra-special, sexy…you can look polished (and be comfortable!) with just a bit of planning. Each of these outfit formulas are super easy and ideal for any Thanksgiving setting.

#1) Blazer, Jeans & Boots
For a casual Thanksgiving get-together, go for something like jeans, boots, and a blazer! The boots and blazer add a dose of sophistication and confidence to this outfit without looking overly “dressy” or stuffy. The hood on this blazer is removable if you want a less casual look. Also, it’s a great dupe for the Veronica Beard blazer and is a fraction of the cost!

#2) Moto Jacket, Button Down, Jeans & Boots
This is another casual but elevated jeans outfit for those casual Thanksgiving lunches/dinners. It’s relaxed, but still very pulled together. The moto jacket adds an edgy vibe. An oversized button-down like this one allows for added comfort too (and it’ll hide a turkey-filled tummy)! You’ll look chic without trying too hard.

#3) Blouse, Jeans & Chelsea Boots
If you’re looking for a more relaxed, casual outfit, go with a pair of trendy relaxed-fit jeans like my favorite Moussy Vintage jeans! I love the juxtaposition between the super feminine blouse with the edgier ripped jeans and combat boots. A lug sole boot like this is a good choice if you’re going to be standing on your feet all day.
Sizing tip: Size up one size in these jeans.

#4) Leather Pants, Button-Down & Boots
These vegan leather pants by Commando are incredibly stretchy and comfortable. You might be thinking…how can that be possible?? But truly, they are! Leather or faux leather is festive and really adds a touch of sex appeal to your outfit. You could pair these pants with a lightweight sweater or bodysuit too and wear them straight through the holiday season to get the most bang for your buck. The fit is amazing and very flattering!

#5) Dress & Sneakers
A perfect combination of dressy and casual, this long sleeve dress and sneakers are ideal for ultimate comfort. The pattern on the dress is so lovely for fall. You can’t see it in the photos but there’s a light metallic thread throughout that just makes the material extra special. And, the adjustable tie waist allows you to control the fit. Even if it’s not this exact printed dress, something like it in your closet might work! If you need to dress it up, add some heels instead of sneakers.

#6) Maxi Dress & Tall Boots
No better way to hide that extra helping of stuffing than with a maxi dress that skims the body! Pairing a long dress with tall boots is so chic and stylish and will also keep you warm. I’m not usually a print person, but the fabric and details on this dress are just stunning. And, it IS comfortable too.

#7) Dress & Chelsea Boots
This is a fun and flirty look that still feels festive and sophisticated. This dress is sold out in blue but it’s available in a pretty brown tone that would be gorgeous for Thanksgiving. And, it’s on sale! There are just a few sizes left if you want to scoop one up! You could easily swap out the Chelsea boots for a pair of black booties or heels.

#8) Maxi Dress & Heeled Booties
Unfortunately, this exact dress is sold out but a maxi dress and heeled booties are a one-and-done, easy way to look pulled together with minimal effort. This is definitely the most dressy option if you need an outfit for a more formal Thanksgiving dinner setting. I also linked a very similar dress under the photo above.

#9 & #10) Skirt & Boots 2 Ways
I know this looks like a dress but as you can see in the second image, it’s actually a blouse and skirt. This would be a versatile set to pack if you’re traveling over Thanksgiving. You can wear the blouse with jeans or the skirt with a bodysuit and a moto jacket. 2 pieces, 3+ looks!
