Finding the perfect dress to wear to a wedding is ALWAYS a struggle. For starters, every freakin wedding has its own unique venue with its own dress code. And, deciphering dress code can be like trying to solve the Rubik Cube! Some are black tie, others black tie optional… some on the beach, while others are in castle. When in doubt, go with a minimal, cocktail dress. That will work for almost all themes. Well, unless it’s a camouflaged-themed wedding. I’ve actually been to one of those!

How Do You Want to Look and Feel?
The question I always used to ask my clients is…how do you want to feel? Do you want to feel glamorous? Sexy like my jumpsuit look above? Elegant? What colors are you drawn to? Dress silhouettes that fit and flatter your body? What is your budget? Once you answer all of those questions, your search will become MUCH easier and faster.

Do not wait until the last minute to buy your dress. You will pay WAY too much for something that you will talk yourself into liking.
One other BIG ‘don’t’… do NOT want to wear white. ONLY the bride can wear white, but you know this already.

Again, before ordering, remember to think about what silhouette routinely works best for you. There is no shame in wearing the same style in different colors. Think about Sofia Vergara. She always wears a bold colored, mermaid gown and looks amazing! Wear the style that works for your body. I recently bought #16 in lavender (already have the dress in blue). I love the line, Bardot. It works really well for my body. That is another thing to consider. What designers or brands work well for you most of the time. Do not reinvent the wheel. Stick with what works.
I bought #7 for the Reward Style conference. It is expensive, but stunning! I also own #6 in white. It’s a best seller among all bloggers. #12 has built in shape-wear and will slim you a full size.
